Twitter data source

Learn how to set up a X (Twitter) Ads data source and move your data into one of the data destinations supported by Coupler.io.

Two steps to complete the setup

  1. Set up your data source
  2. Set up your data destination

1. Set up your data source

1.1. Select the apps to connect: X (Twitter) Ads as a source and one of the available data destinations

1.2. Connect your Twitter Ads account

  • Click "Connect"
  • You can select to share connection with the team. If you keep default (off) - connection will be private. Click Start:

  •  Sign in to your Twitter account via username or email & password

1.3. Select Twitter Ad account

Specify one or several Ad accounts from which you want to extract data.

1.4. Select the report type

Select one of the available data entities. Right now Coupler.io allows fetching the next data:

  • Campaigns
  • Funding instruments
  • Line items
  • Media creatives
  • Promoted accounts
  • Accounts
  • Promoted tweets

1.5. Select report period

Start date / End date

Choose the start and end date for your analytics period. You can either insert a particular date in the YYYY-MM-DD format (e.g. 2022-01-20) or a macros (e.g. {{yesterday}}). Learn more about macros. Note, that report will be generated for active in the specified period entities.

Split data by periods

You can break down the data into specific periods of time - monthly, daily, hourly.

1.6. Set up metrics and dimensions

Select one or several metric groups from the available options. Here you can check what metrics are included in each metric group.

Choose the dimension by which your report data will be grouped, if needed. Note, that dimensions are not supported for  Media creative report type and Life time value mobile conversion metric group.

Twitter has limitations in the combinations of used entity and dimensions, so not all options can be selected together. (e.g. CONVERSATIONS is only valid for entities Campaign, Promoted Account, Promoted Tweet, Line ltem; SLIDES is only valid for Promoted Tweet)

You can also double-check available metrics&dimensions directly in the Twitter Ads API: https://developer.twitter.com/en/docs/twitter-ads-api/analytics/overview/metrics-and-segmentation

1.7. Set up advanced settings.

Select placement type to include in the report - All on X, Publisher Network or All.

For "All" option separate row will be returned for each placement type. Note, that for 'Promoted account' entity only "All on X" placement is available.

2. Set up your data destination

Continue setting up the integration depending on the application you want to import the data to. Select your tool from the list of supported data destinations and follow the relevant setup guide.
