Tableau destination setup
Review this guide to learn how you can set up Tableau destination for a number of supported by Coupler.io data sources.
1. Select Tableau destination
2. Setup Coupler.io web connector in Tableau
- Launch the desktop Tableau app
- Search for Web Data Connector and select it
- Paste Coupler.io connector URL: https://app.coupler.io/tools/tableau
3. Generate integration URL
Click the 'Generate link' button. This will run the importer for the first time in the background, so you'll already have your data imported into JSON.
4. Copy the integration URL
4.1 Copy generated link
URL will stay the same, however data in it will be updated after each importer run.
4.2. Paste it in Tableau and click "Get data"
5. Set up an automatic data refresh in Coupler.io
5.1. Set up a schedule for data refresh
Specify Interval, Days of the week, Time of the day, and Schedule time zone to run the Automatic data refresh.

5.2. Save the changes
Click SAVE AND RUN to save the parameters and run the initial import right away.
6. Set up automatic data refresh on the Tableau side if needed.
To see updated data in Tableau, go to Tableau Data Server > Refresh from Source:
If you need data to be updated in Tableau automatically, it is required to set up this update on the Tableau side. Otherwise, data will be updated by Coupler.io but not pushed to Tableau automatically.
