23-08-23 Long time no see
I’m very sorry for keeping radio silence for almost two months. But, in our defense, we haven’t wasted this time and have prepared a bunch of awesome updates of our beloved Coupler.io. Buckle up since you’ll be pleasantly surprised with all this news.
What’s new
- Microsoft Ads
- LinkedIn Company Pages
- Facebook Public Data/ Facebook Page Insights
- Google Calendar
- Klaviyo
- Typeform
New destination - Power BI
From now on, Google Looker Studio is not the only direct data visualization tool supported by Coupler.io as a destination. Microsoft Power BI has joined the team! You can connect your business apps to Power BI to create self-updating interactive reports.
The connection flow differs from what we have for Looker Studio. But it only takes 4 simple steps to save all your data to Power BI.
Try it right away and pull data from Google Ads, Shopify, or some recently added data sources.
Six new data sources
We used to announce one or two new data sources in our release notes. This time, we’re presenting 6!
1. Microsoft Ads
Microsoft Ads aka Bing Ads is the new source to complement the many ads sources we already support. This will let marketers create advanced reports covering multiple PPC channels.
2. LinkedIn Company Pages
Grab information about different types of views of your company’s LinkedIn page, including jobs page views, products page views, people page views, etc.
3. Facebook Page Insights/Facebook Public Data
Load statistics of public or personal pages and posts on your business Facebook page to build interactive marketing reports. You can pull multiple metrics, including total actions, impressions, engaged users, consumptions, CTA clicks, negative feedback, and many others.
4. Google Calendar
This data source was in big demand and once we were ready, we made it available for all our users. Now, you can connect your Google Calendar to, for example, Google Sheets, and extract information about your events.
5. Klaviyo
Earlier this year, we blogged about how you can connect Klaviyo to Google Sheets using their API. This go-to marketing automation platform as a source was pretty popular, so we built a ready-to-use integration. It allows you to load lists of campaigns or profiles, as well as a predefined report.
6. Typeform
Typeform has been on our waiting list for a long time. Eventually, it is available as a source to export data about your surveys and forms.
Looker Studio destination updates
Previously, you had to make a few manipulations like generating the API token and copying it to a respective field to connect your source to Looker Studio. We’ve simplified this setup flow - now you only need to make three clicks to authorize Coupler.io in Looker Studio.
That’s not all! The Advanced settings of the Looker Studio integration also put on two more parameters: Fields grouping and Calculated fields:
- Fields grouping allows you to group columns using the [GroupName]: [Field Name] pattern. Here is what it looks like in Looker Studio:
- Calculated fields let you create new metrics and dimensions derived from your data using aggregation formulas.
More formulas for data transformation
Speaking of formulas. Not only Looker Studio can boast those but any destination you choose. The data transform module that was introduced in June 2023 allows you to add new columns using different formulas. The number of these formulas is constantly growing. For the last two months, our team has added a bunch of formulas related to manipulating date and date & time values, string parsing, regex, and others.
That’s it for this release. As usual, we haven’t included the tiny improvements that our code magicians add here and there. Enjoy Coupler.io, enjoy your reports, and enjoy your data-driven decisions!
