Google Calendar data source

Learn how to set up a Google Calendar data source and then move this data to one of the data destinations supported by Coupler.io

2 steps to complete the setup

  1. Set up your data source
  2. Set up your data destination

1. Set up your data source

1.1. Select an application: Google Calendar

1.2. Connect your Google Calendar account

1.3. Select Data Entity

Select a data category to export:

  • List of my calendars - returns the list of calendars related to the connected Google Calendar account. Examples: coupler-qa@railsware.com, Holidays, Birthdays.
  • List of events (requires Calendar selection on the next step of the wizard) - returns the list of events according to the selected start and end dates.

Note: all the recurring events, even those created before the start date and/or after the end date specified in the data flow settings, but happening within the range of those settings, will appear in the results. This is Google Calendar API default behaviour. To avoid that and display all the recurring events as individual items, please use the setting "singleEvents=true" in the "Additional settings" section.

  • Report: busy time for user (requires Calendar selection on the next step of the wizard) - returns the list of events with start & end date and time

1.4. Set up advanced settings

This wizard section provides the possibility to filter out unnecessary data using Key & Value syntax

Examples:

retrieve eventTypes equal to "outOfOffice"

retrieve canceled events

retrieve events with a certain email (e.g. "coupler@test.com")

in participants (using q filter)

retrieve recurring recurrent events as individual items

2. Set up your data destination

Continue setting up the integration depending on the system you want to import data to. Select your tool from the list of supported data destinations and follow the relevant setup guide.
